About
Hi! I’m Christina Hall. I’m a graphic designer (print & web) and a photographer. I live in “America’s Finest City” – San Diego, CA (in Pacific Beach). You can see my business website here: www.arisdesign.com.
I’m not the blogger type, or at least I never thought of myself as “the type”. In my opinion, there are already too many useless blogs out there, too many people going on about themselves, or (and this seems to be REALLY popular these days) just repeating what other people are saying. What could I possibly say that wouldn’t be just adding to the junk that’s filling the internet? Additionally – do I really want people to know that much about me?
So then, why do I have a blog?
- First and foremost – for connecting & testing web 2.0/social networking tools, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), WordPress and other new internet technologies before implementing for a client.
- I’m a big tech toy/gadget fan. I like to see what I can do with things like iPhone apps, ipod/ Nike+ etc. and linking them to the web.
- To use as a place to bookmark things (instead of using a bookmarking service like ma.gnolia – they lost over a years worth of research for me when they experienced a catastrophic data loss in early 2009).
- I have friends and family all over the country, so I post stuff that they wouldn’t normally get to see going on around San Diego and in my life.
- As for the “do I really want people to know that much about me?” part: I became very interested in the web as a social networking tool after attending the first Web 2.0 EXPO in San Francisco in April 2007. (This is where I first signed up for a twitter account and the moniker sdTechGirl was born.) Since then I’ve been fairly open and active on the web and well, honestly…if you want to find out something about me it’s not that difficult anymore, so I might as well have my own venue for self expression.
So, if you’ve found my little blog, try not to be too judgmental, this is just my internet playground.
Cheers!
Christina
