Romeo’s favorite show? Meercat Manor!

I’m always surprised when the cats actually see what is on the TV! It’s funny that they will see non-animals sometimes, but it’s always the stuff on Animal Planet that they prefer.

I was surprised I was able to catch this fleeting moment with my iPhone camera of Romeo and the meercat nose to nose, especially with the way the phone has been acting with the updated software, it has slowed the camera to a snails pace… I’m not able to get candid shots anymore. :(

If you have cats, there is a series of DVD’s that I highly recommend – my boys are mesmerized by Cat Sitter from Amazon.com, they’ll watch it for hours if I let them!

Tennis Anyone?

Jerry took me along with him to his tennis lesson with Matt (tennis pro) this morning in PB (Pacific Beach). Matt worked with me for a few minutes on my forehand and backhand. It’s truly amazing how easy a pro can make it look. Both Matt & Jerry said that I was hitting well, I’m just happy to not embarrass myself (or Jerry). :)

My friend Deana’s Cookbook has arrived!

My friend Deana Gunn just sent me her new cookbook “Cooking with all things Trader Joes”! She and her co-author Wona Miniati have written a fantastic cookbook with really beautiful images. I’m a bit biased here – she’s sort of my student. :)

I was thrilled when Deana asked me to help her out with the photography stuff. It was interesting to find that explaining how you do something that you’ve just been doing for years is a whole other set of skills. I found myself searching for words to describe things that I just intrinsically knew – it was very frustrating. But Deana is a quick study and VERY talented artistically, so she didn’t really need that much help.

I’m very honored to say that Deana included me in the “Thank You Notes” at the beginning of the book. :)

If there is one thing that will get me to buy a cookbook it’s pictures – I need to know how its supposed to look when I’m done! In fact, if a cookbook doesn’t have photographs, I won’t even consider it. Deana and Wona have done a fantastic job of capturing their delicious recipes, every page looks yummy!
